Selecting investors, timing for consumer apps, consumer app investors

I was looking at your splash page and wondering if you guys have any traction numbers. I ask this not for myself, but more because it will inform your strategy.

In general, I'm not a consumer (ahead of traction) app investor. But, having observed and thinking about that market (especially as VCs like Fred Wilson, First Round, Benchmark talk about a bubble and a prospective Grexit, Puerto Rico, Ukraine disruption come onto the PE market's radar -- some prominent hedge funds will get their asses handed to them if there's a Grexit and just like with Long Term Capital Mgmt, that could spark an unwinding generally), my hypotheses is that (especially today) most investors in consumer apps take the approach of -- "we'll pile on once there is significant traction because we can't predict which consumer products will take off, but we can afford to wait and see and invest in growth."

And that means that generally, the investors who do invest are firms, especially big ones like a16z.
